It is always great to wake up on a sunny day. To feel the warmth of the sun in your face as the soft breeze plays with your hair when you are on the beach. But when you slept at four in the morning and then you are awakened by too much sunlight that enters your room, it is a different story. When you are giving a presentation using a projector in a room with large windows without blinds, then, that can also be disrupting. Blinds can serve different purposes - one will definitely be to block or minimize the sunlight or any other form of light to enter your room or house.
Another reason for using blinds can be aesthetics and some privacy. Although it is always great to have a French Decor or a French Window that allows you to see the view from inside your house, it is not nice to think that anyone can just look through those doors or windows and see inside your house. Blinds can be a good way of maintaining that experience of being able to see the outside and covering the inside when you want to have your privacy.
Making the blind work for you depends on the type and style of the blind that you choose. There are various types of blinds: You can have the slat blinds which include venetian blinds and miniblinds; or, solid blinds which can be further classified into holland blinds, pleated shade, honeycomb shades or cellular shade, and woven wood shade. Each type of blinds can work well with certain window types, the choice is in your hands.
