Potty training or housebreaking a dog is perhaps, one of the most important things a dog owner must do. To do this, you will need patience and some lessons. You must remember that your dog cannot control their bowel until they are about 12 weeks old. While waiting for that moment, you need to practice and to supervise your pet at all times if possible. Watch your dog for signs of urination or defecation. Dogs normally turn in circles when they need to urinate or defecate. It is also important to let your dog outside to potty before you sleep at night and as soon as he wakes up in the morning. The first thing your dog needs to do is to relieve himself.

When you allow your dog to potty or urinate in the house, there is a great chance that he will return to the same spot next time he has to relieve himself. It is better if you can confine your pet in a small area in the house for easy clean up.
