The Power of Prayer

Religious people prays.  It is the time when they talk to God about everything - their problems, fears, dreams, ask for forgiveness, ask for something, and thank Him for everything.  It is our communion with God and that is a prayer’s greatest benefit - to be able to commune with God.

Little did we know about the other benefits of prayer.  Studies show that praying helps relieve stress.  As my seminarian brother will say, when you are in a state of prayer, there is a lesser chance that you will be angry, hurt, hopeless or experience any negative feeling that will result to stress.

A study made by the Duke University also shows that people who pray have 53% greater chance of recovery than people who don’t.  The study also shows that women who undergo in vitro fertilization were twice as likely to get pregnant when unknowingly receive prayers.  Cardiac patients who unknowingly had strangers to pray for them fared 11% better than people who didn’t.

So, start praying and reap the benefits - both spiritual, physical and emotional aspects of your life.
